Save the Grass!!!
Well, I don't think my yard will ever be the same again. This is what my yard looks like after just a few hours. I'm a little stressed out right now. I'm really staying on top of Lance to save as much grass as possible. We do have a couple lows spots in our yard and I can't stand the thoughts of dirt covering it to level it out until new grass comes through. Why not use what we already have, right? Anyway, I think I might just keep all of my curtains closed on the back of the house until things progress a little further.
See? I can be environmentally conscious, too!

Now on to More Current News
I'd like to ask that you just ponder upon this picture for just a moment. Hmm, what seems odd about it?

Why, you many ask, are you excavating your yard? Well, notice the stacks of brick beyond the tractor. We are going to begin building our long awaited and much anticipated backyard patio. I can't wait to get this backyard the way I want it! It's going to look very nice once it's completed. I'll keep you updated on the progress.

Mudbugs - Gross!!
Well, it's been a while since I posted and I'm posting this one a little after the fact, but I had to make my statement known. Last Sunday, we went to our annual music ministry crawfish boil. Needless to say, I didn't leave with a full belly, but the pineapple sure was tasty. How can anyone eat something that looks like it's looking back at you?

Anyway, fun was had by all and there were a few of these little guys left over after all was said and done. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to stalk the "pastor table". I just thought, "What a great sight! Here you have represented South Carolina, Louisiana, Georgia, Kiev, and Australia all at one table feasting on mudbugs!" (And actually enjoying it, to boot!)

Baseball Night
Last night both Nicholas and Logan had baseball games. It was FREEZING!!!! Anyway, Nick had pitched like 60 something pitches on Saturday (a no-hitter) so we weren't sure if he would be able to pitch for the game last night, but he did. He pitched another 60 something pitches and only had one person get a base hit. He also hit a base hit and got on second base twice. He had a great game! Logan played catcher and pitcher during his game. He did great as catcher. He also got 2 base hits. He was so excited. Both teams won their games.
Logan catching...Not sure why I don't have pics of Nick pitching.

Blast From the Past
Wow! Today was so much fun! My family tagged along with the Ragsdales to the Civil War Reenactment in Port Hudson today. First we stopped by this little store that can be best described as Walmart meets Cabellas. It's somewhere near St. Francisville. All I know is that it was out in the boonies. Anyway, here's a picture of my brand new cowboy hat. You'll have to excuse the makeup, or lack thereof. It was a long day.

On our way. That's the Ragsdales up ahead. Pretty day, huh?
Do you think these guys are going to forgive their parents for making them do this?
Here's Mike and Cindy. Is that a Georgia Bulldogs chair?!
Here's Lance, Nick, C.J. and Logan. C.J. and Logan wanted to keep Lance warm.
The Confederates were moving in!

An Afternoon at the Park
Thank God for small favors!! Yesterday I texted Cindy to see if Easter break was over yet and she felt sorry for me seeing that it was only Tuesday. You know, it's amazing how the boys can get along so well with other kids, but when it comes to the two of them they just argue over the silliest things. Does anyone out there get to experience the same kind of sibling love? Anyway, we went to the park and while the kids played, Cindy and I sat and chit chatted the afternoon away. It was such a beautiful afternoon!! Here are a few pictures of the boys:

Easter
Man, it's been over a week since I have added a post. It's a shame that the time before a holiday is so busy that you can't even enjoy the holiday. I was so wiped out Sunday night and I slept until almost 9:00 Monday morning. Anyway, here are some pics from the weekend. My boys actually liked their outfits, including their shoes. Would you believe that I had to buy Nick a size 10 (men's size) shoe? He's only 11 years old. I also had to buy him men's sizes in his clothes. My babies aren't babies anymore.

Check out this video of a little 2 1/2 year old girl singing The Lord's Prayer. Someone sent it to me via email. It's adorable!

Mmm, Mmm Good!

This week the kids are taking their iLEAP tests at school so I determined myself to get up every morning and make them a good breakfast. Let's see...Monday they had eggs, bacon, and toast. Tuesday I baked biscuits, fried some sausage and scrambled eggs, and stacked it all, added a slice of cheese, and voila... a McDonald's style egg, sausage, and cheese biscuit. This morning I got up and mixed some pancake mix and made those. Looks like they enjoyed it.

Me and Cousin It
We had a great day today at the New Orleans Fairgrounds. It was a beautiful day... a little cool and a lot breezy. While down by the racetrack Lance tried to take a picture of Cindy and me and just as he snapped the wind really took off.

They Grow Up Too Fast!
Isn't it crazy how it seems like just yesterday our kids were babies? I still feel like I should be able to pick them up and carry them around with me. It really hit me the other day when Logan got on the bus how big he is and how fast he is growing. Nick, my 11 year old, is literally as tall as I am and Logan is headed in that direction. I had to make sure that when he got on the bus today I got it on video. Enjoy my baby growing up...

I AM A SOUTHERNER !!!
Okay, so Cindy put a link on her blog page to test and see how Dixie we are. After answering the questions I only scored like 73%. I was disturbed by this seeing that I was born in the peach state, lived in the Palmetto state, and the sunshine state, and went to college in the volunteer state. For those of you that are less southern than I evidently am that equates to Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee. I resorted to turning my radio on 101.5 today. I may just have to break out my southern accent and give Cindy a run for her money.

Sold!

I called my sister-in-law today when I heard about all of the power outages in Florida. They live in Tampa so I wanted to see if they were affected. They were not. I did, however, get to talk to my niece and nephew. Sophie is almost 4 and Will is almost 2.
Sophie looks just like I did and Will is my brother made over!
