Save the Grass!!!

Well, I don't think my yard will ever be the same again. This is what my yard looks like after just a few hours. I'm a little stressed out right now. I'm really staying on top of Lance to save as much grass as possible. We do have a couple lows spots in our yard and I can't stand the thoughts of dirt covering it to level it out until new grass comes through. Why not use what we already have, right? Anyway, I think I might just keep all of my curtains closed on the back of the house until things progress a little further.

Do you feel sorry for me?

See? I can be environmentally conscious, too!

Now on to More Current News

I'd like to ask that you just ponder upon this picture for just a moment. Hmm, what seems odd about it?

Seriously? Lance on a tractor? That's kind of like seeing Pastor Dino and DeLynn on it the day of the groundbreaking ceremony. Remember that? Strange! Anyway, today the excavation begins on our yard. There's, I think, an increasing chance of rain today as the day goes on and a 70% chance tomorrow. So, Lance is trying to hurry and get it done.

Why, you many ask, are you excavating your yard? Well, notice the stacks of brick beyond the tractor. We are going to begin building our long awaited and much anticipated backyard patio. I can't wait to get this backyard the way I want it! It's going to look very nice once it's completed. I'll keep you updated on the progress.

Mudbugs - Gross!!

Well, it's been a while since I posted and I'm posting this one a little after the fact, but I had to make my statement known. Last Sunday, we went to our annual music ministry crawfish boil. Needless to say, I didn't leave with a full belly, but the pineapple sure was tasty. How can anyone eat something that looks like it's looking back at you?

Anyway, fun was had by all and there were a few of these little guys left over after all was said and done. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to stalk the "pastor table". I just thought, "What a great sight! Here you have represented South Carolina, Louisiana, Georgia, Kiev, and Australia all at one table feasting on mudbugs!" (And actually enjoying it, to boot!)

Baseball Night

Last night both Nicholas and Logan had baseball games. It was FREEZING!!!! Anyway, Nick had pitched like 60 something pitches on Saturday (a no-hitter) so we weren't sure if he would be able to pitch for the game last night, but he did. He pitched another 60 something pitches and only had one person get a base hit. He also hit a base hit and got on second base twice. He had a great game! Logan played catcher and pitcher during his game. He did great as catcher. He also got 2 base hits. He was so excited. Both teams won their games.

Logan catching...Not sure why I don't have pics of Nick pitching.

Birthday Weekend

This weekend Lance, the boys, and I drove to Atlanta because it's my mom's birthday. Along with her birthday, it's also Logan's birthday on Sunday. So, we decided to celebrate Mom's, Logan's, my niece Sophie's, and Dad's birthday. We had so much fun! We went to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch and let the kids play. I think we were there for about 2 hours. Can you say overstimulation? We came home, ran a few errands, finished wrapping presents, then around 6:30 we went to a place called Bugaboo Creek. It's a very cool restaurant that serves steak, ribs, etc. The decor is antler lighting, animal heads on the walls, very "lodge" feel. Every once in a while one of the animals on the wall starts talking or moving. The kids loved it. Then we sang Happy Birthday, had cake, and opened presents. Once we got home, Mom and Dad opened their gifts. We will be leaving tomorrow morning to drive back home.
Okay, so either Nick really liked the book or he was really bored. He read the whole book on the way.

Say hello to my bruiser 1 year old nephew William.

I am so proud of my beautiful niece Sophie. She actually kind of looks like me.

This was the birthday bunch at Bugaboo Creek.

Logan was pumped up to get a RipStik from Nana and Papa.
